In the case of this lovely 14K gold ring: D for Diamond, E for Emerald, A for Amethyst, R for Ruby, E again, S for Sapphire, and T for Topaz. "DEAREST". (Although it appears that at some point in the last century, the Topaz was replaced with Citrine! Likewise, the old-cut Diamond that would have been in this ring appears to have been replaced with a newer Diamond).
